Botulinum toxin type A is now manufactured by 5 different pharmaceutical companies under the trade names Botox Cosmetic, Daxxify, Dysport, Xeomin and Jeuveau. While each one has minor differences, the active ingredient in all of them is botulinum toxin, and they all work essentially the same way. People should avoid using Botox while pregnant or breastfeeding, or if they have ever had an allergic reaction to the medication or to any of the its ingredients.
